What kind of church
is Forward Fellowship?
Forward Fellowship is a
diverse, growing community that is exploring what it means
to live out the good news of Jesus Christ.
What is this church
all about?
Our mission is to
declare the Glory of God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are passionate about connecting with God, other believers
and the world. Above all, we are anchored in God’s Word and
are committed to living out and sharing His love and truth.
Are services in English or
Spanish?
All Forward Fellowship
services are conducted in English and translated into
Spanish through headphones. They are also interpreted in
American Sign Language for the Deaf.
What should I wear?
We hope you’ll feel
comfortable no matter what you wear. You’ll see students and
some adults wearing jeans. You’ll also see some adults in
business casual or more dressy attire. The Bible is very
clear that God is more concerned with our inner thoughts and
attitudes than our clothes. We’re here to worship God, not
judge outward appearance.
What kind of people
come to Forward Fellowship?
At Forward Fellowship,
you will find people of different ethnicities,
socio-economic backgrounds, and professions, people who grew
up in the Miami area as well as people who just moved here
from different parts of the country. Spiritually speaking,
you will encounter people who are all in different places in
their spiritual journey. Some are exploring the Christian
faith for the first time; others are returning and others
have spent most of their lives in church.
What if I don't
normally go to church?
That's OK. We have many
people in our church for whom the Church experience is new.
We seek to create a welcoming environment for those who are
curious about God, but have never felt comfortable in
church. We also do our best to explain each element of the
worship gathering so that people don't get lost along the
way. We want Forward Fellowship to be a place where
you can learn, apply, and wrestle with who God is and what
He wants for you. It's okay if you don't have it all
figured out yet; we don't either.
What are the worship
gatherings like?
The worship gatherings
at Forward Fellowship are relaxed, but focused. We follow a
basic pattern of meeting together that is traced back to the
early Church. We teach from the Bible, pray, sing and
reflect. We try to make our worship gatherings accessible to
those who are new to the Christian faith, and at the same
time, fresh for those who have been in the church for a long
time.
What does the pastor
usually talk about?
We believe that God
wants to be involved in our everyday lives, so we present
the ageless truths of the Bible in a format that's easy to
understand, even if you've never been to church. At the core
of the message each week is the Gospel - the good news
of Jesus Christ. God's word is explained in a way that is
relevant in order to apply it to our daily lives and grow
closer to Him. We believe this message has amazing
ramifications for our lives and relationships so we try to
communicate it in fresh and meaningful ways each week.
Can I invite my
friends?
We would love for you to
invite your friends. We do our best to be a warm and
welcoming environment for people who are curious about
Christianity or who are looking to belong to a community of
Christ-followers.
Is Forward Fellowship
Church part of a denomination?
Forward Fellowship is a
member of the Southern Baptist Convention, the world's
largest Baptist denomination with over 16 million members
and more than 42,000 churches. Every aspect of Forward
Fellowship is based on Biblical truth. People at Forward
Fellowship come from a wide diversity of backgrounds,
uniting around the essentials of Biblical faith.
What’s the easiest
